Hundreds of mothers came to the Anderson Building on Saturday morning for the annual Lyon County Community Baby Shower.
The event began at 9:00 am with over 20 informational booths to attend. Event organizer Gail Barrett goes over the details of the morning’s gathering.
Barrett first started the Community Baby Shower when she tragically lost Wade, her baby boy to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). She formed Wade’s Warriors nonprofit organization in his memory and it puts on the Community Baby Shower every year.
Each of the mothers attending are unique and have different expectations of what they want to gain from this event. Expecting mother Michelle Nicholson explains why she attended.
All pre-registered mothers took home a safe-sleep portable crib, gifts from the booths and a chance to win door prizes. Wade’s Warriors will have various fundraisers this year, to support its different endeavors.
