The Emporia State softball team swept a doubleheader from Pittsburg State Sunday.
The Lady Hornets walked off with a 4-3 win in game 1, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Hannah Steeby, on her birthday, drove in the winning run.
Emporia State won the 2nd game 5-1. Cassidy Beem was 3 for 3, one of those hits was a 2 run home run in the 6th inning.
Maddy Broxterman added a solo homerun in the 6th. Freshman Sydney Righi was the winning pitcher, earning her first career win.
The Lady Hornet Softball team hosts Missouri Southern in a doubleheader Monday afternoon with first pitch set for 2pm at the Trusler Sports Complex.
