The Emporia State baseball team out scored Missouri Southern 11-5 Monday afternoon to avoid a three game sweep.
The Hornets scored a run in the first inning on a Connor Hurst sacrifice fly. In the 2nd inning Ryan Krolikowski hit a 2 run home run, his first hit of the season.
Emporia State scored 6 runs in the 3rd, Paul Claassen drove in 2 of the runs with a single.
The Hornets are now 18-11 for the season and 12-6 in the MIAA they are scheduled to host Missouri Western in a 3 game series beginning Friday.
