The Emporia High boys golf team will be playing in their first varsity tournament Thursday. The Spartans will be playing in the Washburn Rural Invitational at Wamego.
The Spartans return an experienced group of players from a team that finished 3rd at State last year. Leading that group is Junior Gentry Scheve, who finished 3rd at State.
Caleb Schmidt, Connor Hoyt, Garin Fisher, Anthony Delgado were also a part of that team. Freshman Brooks Sauder will also be playing with the varsity Thursday.
