Hundreds of people flocked to the North Lyon County Youth Association & Child Development Center’s (NLCYA) annual Fish Fry and Silent Auction.
The NLCYA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a nurturing, learning, and caring environment for the children of Allen and surrounding communities. NLCYA Director Christine Wallace explains the organization’s outreach.
Each year on the first April of every month, the NLCYA hosts this annual fish fry, and 2019 marks twenty years of the event. Wallace says the fry has evolved from an operation to “keep the lights on” to becoming their largest source of revenue.
The fish fry isn’t the only fundraiser; however, and Wallace says all funds benefit the nonprofit organization.
A total count of funds raised is still being counted, so stay tuned to KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social medias for when the total is made available.
