Law enforcement officers from across Kansas thronged to Emporia last week as the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office held its annual Spring Training seminar.
Lyon County Sheriff Jeff Cope says the different presentations give officers a chance to learn about the latest developments and trends. Spring Training also offers opportunities for networking, both on a personal and departmental level.
Numerous topics were covered, including human trafficking, cybersecurity, bias-based policing, suicide prevention and physical fitness. Rescue personnel also went through certain life safety techniques, like packing wounds, treating open wounds and applying tourniquets.
Over 200 law enforcement officials from across Kansas attended the event last week.
