Emergency crews have cleared the scene of an accident involving a semi and a street light in downtown Emporia.
Crews were called out shortly after 3:20 pm Monday afternoon for a utility problem. According to Emporia Police officer Kenny Rodriguez, a semi struck a utility pole at the intersection of sixth and merchant.
According to Rodriguez, the pole was not completely knocked down and only suffered damage to the overhead arm. Word on the cause of the accident is currently pending.
Traffic has resumed to normal in the area.
