With current wind advisories set to expire later Wednesday, the national weather service has now issued an additional advisory for Thursday.
Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in separate advisories that all run from 10 am to 7 pm Wednesday. Those counties are now also in an advisory which will go into effect Thursday at 10 am until 7 pm.
Chase and Greenwood counties are in an advisory from 10 am to midnight Wednesday and from 5 am to 7 pm Thursday.
Winds will be sustained out of the south from 20-30 mph with gusts as high as 50 mph Wednesday. Winds could likely shift to the southwest and later to the west Thursday, with sustained speeds possibly as high as 25-35 mph.
Morris and Osage counties have issued burn bans for Wednesday. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged for the KVOE listening area for Wednesday and Thursday.
