The Emporia State baseball team was out scored by Newman 13-6 in a non-conference game Wednesday night.
Newman took control with a 6 run 3rd inning. They scored the 6 runs on 5 hits and 2 Emporia State errors. The Hornets had chances, twice they left the bases loaded. Once in the 4th inning when they scored 2 runs, one on a Tyrus Barclay home run. They also left the bases loaded in the 7th when they scored no runs. Coach Seth Wheeler spoke after the game.
The Hornets will regroup and host Pittsburg State in a 3 game series beginning Friday night.
