The Emporia High baseball team split a doubleheader with Topeka Hayden Tuesday night.
The Spartans won the first game 16-6. After trailing 6-1 after 2 innings the Spartans tied the game with 5 runs in the 3rd inning. They scored 5 more runs 6th inning to end the game. Riley Wagner was the winning pitcher and was also 3 for 5 with 4 RBI at the plate.
Hayden won the 2nd game 6-3 in 9 innings. Coach Anthony Markowitz said they did not have the same approach in the 2nd game.
The Emporia High baseball team is now 4-4 for the season. They play at Topeka West Thursday.
