The Anderson Building was packed during the Diabetes Health Fair that was held on Thursday.
The Diabetes Health Fair is a perfect event for people to learn more about diabetes and prediabetes with plenty of vendors and health professionals to teach you. Each booth touched a different aspect of diabetes such as the Crosswinds booth that talked about the mental health strain diabetes can cause. There was even a station that tested blood glucose levels, a station that took blood pressure, and a station for foot screenings.
They also had guest speaker, Dr. Charisse Symonds, to give a presentation over what to do when you learn you have diabetes and according to Symmonds diabetes has been diagnosed more frequently.
Symmonds also goes to state some of the advancements in medicine to help those with diabetes.
The fair is a free event held every year and is hosted by Newman Regional Health.
