The Emporia High baseball team swept Topeka West in a doubleheader Thursday.
The Spartans won the first game 10-0. Skyler Douglas tossed a 2 hit shutout. Cade Kohlmeier drove in 3 runs with a double in the 2nd inning. Riley Wagner finished with 2 RBI. In the 5th inning both Skyler Beatty and Beau Baumgardner stole home.
In the 2nd game Ethan Garate tossed a perfect game in an 11-0 win for Emporia High. He threw 44 pitches in the 5 innings of work. Kaden Williams drove in 3 runs and Trevin Ginter drove in 2 runs. The Spartans are now 6-4 for the season. They will play at Leavenworth on Tuesday.
