It won’t take long for the Flint Hills Optimists’ 33rd annual Easter egg hunt to wrap up Saturday. Not with possibly up to 2,000 area kids and other family members hunting for candy at Jones Park.
Organizer and club member Stan Fowler says better than 15,000 pieces of candy will be set out Saturday morning. He has one piece of advice for families attending:
As has been the case for years, the event will have several age-based areas for the candy hunters, including one for disabled children. The Easter Bunny will also be on hand for pictures.
The hunt starts at 10 am and often lasts just a few minutes.
