Hundreds of children flocked to Jones Park on Saturday morning to get their fill of candies at the Flint Hills Optimist Easter Egg Hunt.
Families from around the local area brought their little ones to partake in the hunt that the Flint Hills Optimist Club sponsors every year. The kids frenzied the fields of Jones Park, and the Easter Egg Hunt was over almost as quickly as it began.
The total amount of people engaged in the hunt may have been around the one thousand range, and Club President Brian Douglas says the atmosphere of the event fits right in with the club’s mission.
The event was free to the public, also in line with the values of the Optimist Club, as Douglas remarks.
Over 15,000 pieces of candy were up for grabs, and by the end, only a select amount remained.
