The 2019 KVOE Beat the Bracket Challenge winner received their grand prize Monday afternoon.
Alexis Hall picked up the win and $750 in lawn care and maintenance from Scott’s Lawn and Landscaping, a 40 inch smart TV from Guion’s Showcase and a full auto detail and oil change from Longbine Auto Plaza. Hall took first place having picked Virginia to win it all.
She tells KVOE News, as she is not the most avid sports fan, her victory was due in part to some luck and a little advice from her boyfriend.
The second place winner, who took home a $300 Visa gift card was Janette Walters who says her success was also due in part to some luck. Walters has participated in the challenge before, and says as in year’s past all of her choices were basically blind picks.
Joan Williams came in third place and received a $100 Visa gift card. Williams says she only made one bracket and predicted Texas Tech would make the final four, which drew some light hearted ribbing from her peers.
Hall was presented with her winnings Monday afternoon at Guion’s Showcase. Separately Walters and Williams received their gift cards at Emporia State Federal Credit Union earlier in April.
