The Emporia High boys tennis team was scheduled to host a 8 team tournament Tuesday. The Tournament was postponed and rescheduled for Thursday.
This tournament will be challenging, 9 of the singles players and 8 of the doubles team qualified for state last year or should qualify for state this year. Emporia High Coach Matt Irby says playing teams like the ones they face today have helped them improve.
Coach Irby says the line up is about set for the championship tournaments.
Tuesdays lineup has Fernando Becerra and Josh Stutler playing singles. Cameron Kienholz and Taylor Moorman make up one of the doubles teams. The other doubles team will be Brendon Kienholz and Wyatt Cahoone.
The Centennial League tournament is set for Monday. The Regional tournament is scheduled for May 4th. State will be played May 10th and 11th.
