The Emporia High baseball team was swept by Leavenworth in a doubleheader Tuesday.
The Spartans lost the first game 2-1 in 8 innings. Leavenworth scored the winning run on a bases loaded walk. Emporia High lost the 2nd game 5-2. Hayden Baumwart drove in both runs with a single. They are scheduled to host Junction City Friday. The Emporia High baseball team is now 6-6 for the season.
Area High School baseball:
Chase County split with Osage City. Osage City won the first game 6-5. Chase County won the 2nd game 3-1.
Area Hgih School Softball:
Chase County swept Osage City 1-0, 5-4 to move into first place in the Flint Hills league standings.
Northern Heights split with Burlingame. Northern Heights won the first game 4-3. Burlingame won the 2nd game 12-2.
