The Emporia State softball team split a doubleheader with William Jewell Tuesday.
The Lady Hornets won the first game 5-4.They scored all 5 runs in the 6th inning. Hannah Steeby hit a 2 run home run. Brittanie Shepherd added a 2 run double. and Kenzie Garvin singled in a run.
William Jewell won the 2nd game 7-5. Mackenzie Thornton drove in 2 runs with a double in the 4th inning giving the Lady Hornets a 2-1 lead. William Jewell scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th. Brylie Bassett drove in a run with a single and added a 2 run home run in the 7th. The Lady Hornets play at Northwest Missouri State Friday.
