The Emporia High baseball team split a doubleheader with Junction City Friday.
Junction City won the first game 7-4. The Blue Jays jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed.
Emporia High out scored Junction City 10-9 to win the 2nd game. Junction City scored 5 runs in the 1st and added 3 more runs in the 4th as they built a 9-5 lead after 4 innings. Emporia High took the lead scoring 5 runs in the 6th inning. Hayden Baumwart had the big hit, driving in 2 runs with a single.
Coach Anthony Markowitz was pleased with the way they battled thru adversity to win the 2nd game.
The Spartans are now 7-7 for the season they will play Topeka High in Topeka Tuesday.
