A jury has found a Coffey County woman guilty of murder and elder abuse.
The Kansas Attorney General’s Office says 69-year-old Carol Sue Burris of New Strawn was convicted Thursday of one count of reckless second-degree murder and a count of mistreatment of an elder person. Charges stemmed from the mistreatment and death of Burris’ husband, Michael D Burris. Authorities say Carol Burris mistreated her husband from April 2016 until October 2017.
Sentencing is June 27 in Coffey County District Court.
