The Kansas State High School Activities Association executive board approved several changes for High School Sports in Kansas beginning with the 2019-20 school year.
They approved making girls wrestling a state championship sport.
They also approved allowing football teams to be a part of preseason jamboree.
The Jamboree can beheld after 10 days of practice and include 3 or 4 teams. It will be limited to 36 offensive plays and will not include special teams.Emporia High football coach Corby Milleson gives the new rule mixed reviews.
The State golf tournaments will be 36 hole tournaments instead of the 18 hole tournaments.
And Coaches will not be allowed to have contact with student athletes the week of July 1st thru the 7th.
