The Emporia State softball team will have to work their way thru the consolation bracket to win the MIAA tournament. The Lady Hornets were out scored by Washburn 2-1 in Wednesdays first round game.
Washburn scored a run in the 1st inning on a squeez bunt. Emporia State tied the game in the 4th on a home run by Hannah Steeby. Washburn re-took the lead in the bottom of the 4th.
Emporia State will try to avoid elimination when they play Pittsburg State today.
Pittsburg State lost to Missouri Western 4-2.
