Sentencing is coming Friday in an aggravated battery case initially linked to attempted murder charges in Lyon County.
Jonathan Bafford, 46, pleaded to an alternate count of aggravated battery during a motions hearing in February. The battery charge was an alternate to a more serious count of attempted second-degree murder filed last year after Bafford allegedly attacked a woman, who went to Newman Regional Health with a puncture wound in her back and significant brises elsewhere on her body.
Bafford also pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine. Other charges, including aggravated kidnapping, were dropped as part of the agreement as were charges in a separate battery case.
Sentencing is at 9 am.
