Despite two wins Saturday over Central Missouri and Northeastern State, the Emporia State Softball Team’s season came to an end with a 5-3 loss to Missouri Western in the MIAA Tournament.
Kenzie Garvin, Hannah Steeby and Valerie Kinney were responsible for the Lady Hornet’s three runs on the day. Montanna Messler was the losing pitcher going all seven innings giving up five runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts and one walk.
This was the third straight game of the day for ESU having defeated UCM 6-1 and Northeastern State 4-3 thanks to a Brylie Bassett walk-off single. The Lady Hornets finish the season with a record of 28-28.
