An Emporia man has been arrested following a low-speed pursuit Monday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Emporia Police Department, an EPD detective vehicle initiated a stop on a vehicle with no visible license plate around 1:50 pm. The vehicle failed to stop and led the detective on a low-speed pursuit for roughly 4-5 blocks before coming to a stop.
It was later discovered the vehicle has been stolen from the John North Ford dealership Monday morning. The driver, 28-year-old James Merritt III of Emporia was arrested on suspicion of charges including theft, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
