Second-half property taxes are due for Lyon County residents this week.
Treasurer Sharon Gaede says residents can go to www.lyoncounty.org to check how much is due. Residents can go to the Treasurer’s link under the Government drop-down tab and then find “Property Tax” to check the amount owed. They then can go to www.kansas.gov/propertytax, stop by the office inside the County Courthouse or mail payments to the Treasurer’s Office at 430 Commercial.
If you’re mailing, Gaede says a May 10 postmark will be considered as on time. If you’re paying in person, you’re told to provide a second-half pay stub or first-half receipt to continue the process.
If you have questions, call the County Treasurer’s Office at 341-3255.
