Weather shortened play for the Emporia High baseball and softball teams, Monday.
The Emporia High baseball picked up a win 3-2 over Topeka High, Monday in game 1 of a doubleheader, before rain interrupted play of game 2. Riley Wagner pitched a complete game, surrendering only one earned run. The Spartans got RBI’s from Jadyn Williams and Jace Stewart. Weather halted the second game, with EHS trailing 2-1. Tuesday’s doubleheader with Manhattan has been postponed until Thursday. First pitch, at Soden’s Grove, is scheduled for 4pm.
The Emporia High softball team dropped the first game of their doubleheader with Topeka High, 15-1, before rain washed out Game 2. Topeka High had a 5-0 lead when play was halted. The Lady Spartans’ scheduled doubleheader at Manhattan, Tuesday, has been postponed until Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 4pm.

The Chase County baseball team defeated Northern Heights 7-6 in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Blaise Holloway led the Bulldogs going 3 for 4 with two runs and 2 RBI’s.
The Chase County softball team outscored Northern Heights 9-2 in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Northern Heights was leading Game 2, 1-0, before rain halted play.
The Osage City softball team swept a doubleheader over Central Heights. The Lady Indians won game 1 8-1, and game 2 15-0.
