An Olpe man charged with sexual abuse of two young children has pleaded no contest in the case.
Garry Dale Wilson, 64, was originally charged in February with single counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties and aggravated indecent solicitation against one child who was reportedly 6 years old when abuse allegedly started in 2016. The indecent solicitation charge was upgraded to indecent liberties in April, and Wilson pleaded no contest to one of the indecent liberties counts during a pretrial hearing in Emporia on Wednesday. The other two counts were dropped as part of a plea agreement announced during the hearing.
When the solicitation count was replaced, prosecutors added two indecent liberties charges in the case of a then-5-year-old child who reported abuse dating to 2016. Those charges were also dropped Wednesday.
Sentencing is on the docket for July 9. Wilson faces a minimum 25 years in prison. He could also have lifetime postrelease supervision and lifetime registration as a sex offender.
