The Emporia High softball team swept a doubleheader from Manhattan Friday.
The Lady Spartans won the 1st game 13-6. They scored 6 runs in the 3rd and added 5 runs in the 7th. Kaylee Thomas was 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored. Paige Thomas was 3-4 with 3 RBI.
Emporia High won the 2nd game 9-6, scoring 8 runs in the 5th inning. Brynn Riley, Mya Chapman and Kaylee Thomas drove in 2 runs each. The Lady Spartans will take a 13-6 record into regional tournament play. They open regional play against Pittsburg at Basehor-Linwood on Tuesday.
