The Kansas City Royals rolled to a 11-5 win over the Texas Rangers Tuesday night.
The Royals scored 3 runs in the 1st inning then blew the game open with 6 runs in the 2nd to take a 9-0 lead. They would add 2 more runs in the 7th when Whit Merrifield picked up his 500th career hit.
Nicky Lopez picked up his first career hit.
Hunter Dozier drove in 3 runs. Alex Gordan and Jorge Soler each drove in 2 runs. Danny Duffy was the winning pitcher. He last 5 innings giving up 4 runs on 7 hits and 6 strikeouts. The Royals and Rangers play again Wednesday night with Jorge Lopez on the mound for the Royals. First pitch is set for 7:15p.
