Tremors from an Oklahoma earthquake were felt in the KVOE listening area Friday afternoon.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a magnitude 4.4 earthquake near Medford Oklahoma, roughly 160 miles southwest of Emporia shortly after 3:30 pm. The quake was around 3 miles below the surface.
Light to moderate shaking was reported near the epicenter of the quake. Weak to light shaking was felt in Hamilton and Emporia.
Damage reports from the epicenter of the quake are currently pending. No damage or injuries were reported in the KVOE listening area.
