Another candidate has stepped forward for the upcoming election cycle.
Matt Gehring filed Friday for USD 251 Position 3. He is currently facing off against incumbent Angela Anderson for that position.
Incumbent Wendy Linsey is the only candidate for Position 1, while incumbent David Goldsmith is the lone candidate for Position 2 and incumbent Matt Horton is currently unopposed for the at-large Position 7 seat.
The candidate filing and withdrawal deadline is June 3. So far, not enough candidates have filed for school board, city commission or city council to force an August primary. Lyon County Clerk Tammy Vopat will discuss the upcoming elections during KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 segment Monday.
