KVOE celebrated National Barbecue Month with the annual Listener Appreciation hamburger feed, held Wednesday at Bluestem Farm and Ranch Supply.
KVOE General Manager Ron Thomas says this is a great way to reward listeners for their loyalty.
Around 350 hamburgers were grilled at Bluestem, courtesy of Bruffs Sports Bar and Grill. Kenny Schuler of Emporia won the Weber Q2000 grill, while Scott Burenheide won the Weber Jumbo Joe grill.
Listeners also donated to Ron’s Ride, with Thomas preparing to ride with local law enforcement from Emporia to Olpe next week as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run benefiting Special Olympics.
