Emporia State held their annual Athletic fund raising auction Thursday night raising over $79,000 dollars.
Over 250 Hornet fans, alums, student-athletes, staff and other supporters bid on 17 live auction items while over 80 silent auction items were available on-line. The total of live auction, silent auction, fund-a-need and other donations raised the over $79,000 dollars. Emporia State Athletic Director Kent Weiser says the Auction is very important for Emporia State Athletics.
Weiser added that the auction not only allows the athletes to be successful in competition but also in the classroom.
Now former Lady Hornet basketball player Addie Lackey says the scholarship that allowed to play basketball was invaluable.
The annual golf tournament has been postponed until June 7th.
