After 4 weather delays over 3 days the Kansas State High school Track and field meet came to an end Sunday.
Emporia High added 3 more medals on the final day bringing the total to 9 medals won at the 2019 State Track and Field meet.
Elizabeth Schwerdtfeger finished in 4th place in the triple jump.
Schwerdtfeger also finished in 5th place in the long jump.
Mya Tovar finished in 5th place in the javelin.
The boys 4 by 400 relay team of Matthew East, Isaac Huber, Rafael Vasquez and Colton Bieker finished in 6th place.
Taylor Milleson finished in 2nd place in the shot put.
Rafael Vasquez finished in 2nd place in the 300 hurdles.
Matthew East finished in 5th place in the 300 hurdles.
Alexis Davies finished in 5th place in the 400 meter dash.
Isaac Huber finished in 8th place in the pole vault.
As a team the Emporia High girls finished tied for10th, the boys finish in 20th place.
Area athletes picked up medals on the final day.
The Council Grove girls 4 by 400 relay finished in 4th place. The Osage City boys finished in 3rd place in the 4 x 400 relay. The Burlingame boys 4 x 400 relay finished in 5th place.
The Olpe boys finished in 4th place the Olpe girls finished in 16th place in 1A.
The Burlingame boys finish in 19th place in 1A.
The Council Grove girls finish in 12th place and the Council Grove boys finished in 14th place. The Burlington girls finished in 21st place in 3A.
