The Kansas City Royals were swept by the New York Yankees Saturday.
The Yankees won the first game 7-3. The Yankees were leading 3-0 when the Royals Whit Merrifield hit a 3 run home run to tie the game. The Yankees would score 2 runs in both the 7th and 8th inning to seal the win.
In the 2nd game New York scored 5 runs in the second innning and never trailed. The Royals tried to rally. Hunter Dozier, Adalberto Mondesi and Jorge Soler each doubled in a run. Chris Gallagher drove in a run with a single and sacrifice fly.
The Royals and Yankees wrap up their 3 game series Sunday Afternoon with Danny Duffy on the mound for the Royals. First pitch is set for 1:15p. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
