Amidst all the flooding recently, there has been some good news for residents of west-central Greenwood County.
Residents served by Greenwood County Rural Water District No. 2 can finally use their tap water without boiling it. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment made that determination Friday.
The advisory had been in place for two weeks after a water line broke, resulting in a loss of water pressure. Loss of pressure can result in a loss of chlorine residuals, with increased risk of bacterial contamination possible as a result.
