Strong thunderstorms are possible during the early morning hours of Memorial Day.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Lyon County and most surrounding counties — Chase, Greenwood, Morris and Wabaunsee — until 5 am Monday. Hail to the size of quarters, or 1 inch in diameter, and wind gusts up to 80 mph are the main concerns.
Pockets of heavy rainfall are also possible with any storms that affect the KVOE listening area.
