The Kansas City Royals walked off with a 8-7 win over the New York Yankees in 10 innings Sunday.
The Royals built a 7-1 lead on home runs by Jorge Soler, Ryan O’Hearn, Hunter Dozier and Martin Maldonado. The Yankees scored 3 runs in the 6th and tied the game with 3 runs in the 9th. Whit Merrifields single in the bottom of the 10th drove in Billy Hamilton to give the Royals the win.
The Royals begin a 3 game series with the White Sox in Chicago Monday afternoon. Homer Bailey will be the starting pitcher for the Royals with first pitch at 1:10p.
