The Emporia Arts Center is now lighting up Commercial Street with a new marquee that was hung earlier this month and officially activated on Wednesday.
The electric marquee put outside the second story of the EAC building was funded by a donation from the William and Aloha Preston Family Trust. This new addition will post updates and event info as it comes out.
Arts Center staffers also hope that this new item will show off the steps being taken to integrate technology into its art and events. Marketing Coordinator Allyson Walker:
Arts Center Director Dawn Young says the overall project has been on her to-do list for the last two years, and she was grateful for the Preston Family Trust donation to make it happen.
