The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader from Burlington Thursday to open their season.
The Emporia AAA won the first game 7-2 and the second game 7-1. Their next games will be Monday when they play the Topeka Senators in Topeka.
The Emporia Junior legion opens their season this weekend when they host the Summer Slam. Cory Shovick will be coaching the Junior Legion.
Coach Shovick says he is excited to watch the team develop over the season.
The 6 team tournament begins Saturday morning at 9am with Post 5 playing El Dorado.
