Friday night’s performance at the 82nd annual Flint Hills Rodeo was met with beautiful weather, filled stands, and an enthusiastic crowd.
Even before the events started at 8:00 pm, Strong City’s rodeo grounds were completely full of fans of the sport from all across the world. Friday’s theme was Military Appreciation and a patriotic display for those who have served previewed the rodeo itself.
Many who participate in the Flint Hills Rodeo are newcomers, but some have been a part of the event for years. As is the case with retired professional bull-rider turned judge, Clayton Macom. Macom explains why he chooses to come back to Strong City every year.
Macom and most others participating in the Flint Hills Rodeo share similar views on why this rodeo is one of their favorites.
The Flint Hills Rodeo continues today with a days-worth of events to cover. For a full list of these events, visit flinthillsrodeo.org.
