The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department is reporting an alleged break-in has connections to an early morning crash on the Kansas Turnpike Tuesday.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, just after 11:30 am Tuesday deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the 2200 block of Kansas Highway 99. Following a search of the residence, deputies found a woman inside the garage asleep.
The female is believed to have been involved in a vehicle accident at Kansas Turnpike mile marker 132.6 around 3 am Tuesday morning. Lyon County Sergeant Danny Broyles tells KVOE News when crews arrived to assist with the accident there were no individuals in or near the vehicle.
It is believed the female walked away from the scene to the residence which was directly east of the crash site. Lyon County EMS was called to the scene and transported the woman to Newman Regional Health as she was complaining of hip pain, her condition will not be released.
The burglary is currently under investigation. Further details are currently pending.
