One individual was taken to Newman Regional Health following a collision northwest of Emporia Tuesday evening.
According to Lyon County Deputy Zack Shafer, a 1998 Dodge Durango was travelling along Road F5 7.8 miles northwest of Emporia when it began to slow down. A 2011 Chevy Impala was unable to slow in time and rear-ended the Durango.
The driver of the Durango was taken to Newman with what are being called “non-life threatening injuries.” The driver of the Impala was unhurt.

At least one individual was transported from the scene of an injury accident in the 2300 block of Road F5 Tuesday evening.
The accident occurred at 2321 Road F5 7.8 miles northwest of Emporia just after 5:30 pm. Details are still pending, however, the Emporia Fire Department reports at least one individual was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health with currently undisclosed injuries.
