An equipment failure is listed as the likely cause for a fire that destroyed an empty trailer at an Emporia business on Wednesday.
Fire broke out in the trailer outside Flint Hills Towing, 423 Graham, around 11:15 am. Emporia Fire Capt. Bill Harmon says the blaze did not affect the building, but the refrigerated trailer was a total loss.
No injuries were reported. The exact cause of the equipment malfunction is under investigation.
