The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team held on for a 7-6 win over Iola Wednesday night in a 9 inning game that took less then 2 hours to play.
Iola took an early lead scoring 2 runs in the 1st inning.
Post 5 tied the game with 2 runs in the 3rd inning and took the lead with a 5 run 6th inning.
Iola made things interesting with 3 runs in the 7th and a run in the 9th.
Riley Wagner was the winning pitcher going all 9 innings throwing 107 pitches.
Hayden Baumwart was 2 for 3 at the plate with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. He said playing 9 a inning game was different.
Hunter Groh drove in 2 runs.
The Post 5 Seniors are now 10-0 to start the season. They are scheduled to host Burlington in a doubleheader Friday.
