Both of the Emporia American Legion baseball teams are scheduled to play Friday.
The Junior Legion opened play in a tournament at Andover.
They opened with a 18-4 win Andover. The Post 5 Juniors blew the game open with a 10 run 3rd inning.
John Pingle led the offense going 3 for 3 with 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
Vance Kinsey drove in 3 runs, so did Logan Thomas.
Cam Geitz was the winning pitcher giving up 4 runs on 4 hits with 4 strikeouts.
The Emporia A legion was out scored by the Buhler Nationals 6-5. Buhler had a 5-1 lead after 6 innings. Post 5 scored 3 runs on 2 errors in the bottom of the 7th but it was not enough.
Going into the tournament Bobby Trujillo said they want to build on some of the positives from Wednesdays doubleheader split at Newton.
Saturday they are scheduled to play Salina at noon to wrap up pool play.
The Emporia Senior legion baseball team is scheduled to host Burlington. The Post 5 seniors take a 10-0 record into the doubleheader. Hayden Baumwart says it starts when they get to the ballpark.
First pitch is set for 6pm at Sodens Grove.
