The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader from Burlington Friday night.
The Post 5 Seniors won the first game 12-0 in 4 innings. Ethan Garate no hit Burlington for the 4 innings and had 5 strikeouts.
Riley Wagner drove in 3 of the runs. Sawyer Slayden finished with 2 RBI.
Emporia won the 2nd game 11-1 in 4 innings. Jace Stewart led the offense with 4 RBI. Riley Wagner and Cade Kohlmeier each drove in a 2 runs.
For the doubleheader Kadyn Williams was 4 for 5 at the plate with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI.
Pitchers Cade Kohlmeier and Hayden Baumwart teamed up to hold Burlington to 1 run on 4 hits in game 2.
With the Sweep the Emporia Senior Legion is now 12-0.
They will play the Alumni today. Batting practice begins at 10:30 with the game at 11am at Sodens Grove.
The Triple A host Ottawa Wednesday.
