Symphony in the Flint Hills is taking place this weekend. It’s just happening Sunday instead of Saturday.
Shortly after 7:30 am, the Symphony in the Flint Hills’ media relations department announced the activities were postponed due to inclement weather. Director Christy Davis says this reflects heavy thunderstorm activity from early Saturday morning.
The schedule remains the same, with gates at Irma’s Pasture near Bazaar opening at noon, an art exhibit and auction at noon, Prairie Pavilion presentations starting at 1:30, the Osage Ballet at 4:15 pm, the concert itself at around 6:30 pm and stargazing and a dance starting around 9:15 pm.
If there is another schedule adjustment, the event will be canceled. Showers and storms are possible by Saturday evening, although better chances of thunderstorms — including severe weather — are expected by late Saturday night.
The event has officially sold out. Go to www.symphonyintheflinthills.org for more information.
