The Kansas City Royals let one slip away Saturday night losing to the Minnesota Twins 5-4.
Jorge Soler hit a 2 run home run in the first inning to give the Royals the early lead. They added 2 more runs in the 5th inning to take a 4-1 lead. Whit Merrifield hit a solo home run and Adalberto Mondesi scored on a Lucas Duda sacrifice fly. The Twins tied the game with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th and scored the winning run in the 6th inning. The Royals did strand 9 baserunners and were 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position. The Royals and Twins wrap up their 3 game series with the Twins Sunday afternoon. Jakob Junis will be on the mound for the Royals with first pitch at 1:10p.
